Putting on the Brakes

Sometimes your coach can’t tell you when to take a rest day.
Sometimes your mind is willing but your body rebels.
Yesterday, I spent more time preparing for my run than the run itself.
I had every intention of going at least four miles.
The scheduled called for eight with race/tempo pacing.
I made it a quarter of a mile. About 20 yards past the pier.
Errrrrrrrrrr, you could hear my legs putting on the brakes.
I hope this means the accelerator works okay tomorrow.
