The definition of “Normal”

I feel pretty good today. I’m actually reveling in a slow workday. Yesterday, I was a zombie. A hobbling zombie. An unfocused, hobbling zombie incapable of doing much of anything, except discussing marathon strategy with Coach Beth.

She said my fatigue was a very good sign. The time I took for a long run in high humidity only a week after a tri was a very good sign. And that overwhelming feeling of fatigue – like I’d been sprinkled with fairy dust in the Wizard of Oz or hit with a tranquilizer dart gun? It’s all normal.

Strutting around in my Skins travel and recovery tights and baggy shorts everywhere today. Probably not normal. But they sure do feel good.
