A Wise Woman

Last week I ran out of coffee. This was a bad thing because by the time I arrived at the pool for my early morning workout, I realized I forgot my swim cap.

An older woman, Marilyn, rescued me. She cheerfully pulled an extra cap out of her bag. A morning person. A happy, fit, bubbly, beautiful lady with white-cropped hair.

She was excited about doing a 90-mile bike ride the next day. I asked, “Are you a triathlete?” “Oh, no!’ she replied, “I’d get too obsessed. I’m that way about everything. Like Sudoku … I’d do it too much and then I’d lose interest and quit.” Yeah, or she’d have a blog and write about it, too.
