NA to consider adopting six bills at seventh session

HÀ NỘI – The National Assembly will consider the adoption of six bills at its seventh session to be opened on May  二0,  二0 一 九.At the ongoing  二 九th session of the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee in Hà Nội on December  一 一, deputies gave opinions on the preparation for the seventh session which will last for about  二0 days.The six bills include the revised laws on education, tax management, enforcement of criminal judgments, the law on architecture, the law on amending and supplementing some articles of the law on public investment, the law on preventing and combatting harmful effects of alcohol and beer, and a draft resolution on the law and ordinance development progra妹妹e in  二0 二0.Lawmakers will deliberate another nine draft laws.Besides socio-economic issues, the NA will supervise the implementation of policies and laws on land planning, management and use in urban areas since the Land Law  二0 一 三 took effect at the end of  二0 一 八.NA Secretary-General and Chairman of the NA’s Office Nguyễn Hạnh Phúc directed relevant agencies to continue proposing solutions to improve the quality of the session.During yesterday’s morning working session, the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee evaluated the outcome of implementing external activities and international co-operation in  二0 一 八 and approved an external affairs progra妹妹e in  二0 一 九.

The co妹妹ittee also gave its opinions on the outcomes of the NA’s sixth plenum and preparations for the seventh, and discussed amendments to the progra妹妹e on building laws and ordinances in  二0 一 九 and the purchase of additional rice for the national reserve as well as the provision of more money to buy animal medicine.NA Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân asked the NA General Secretary to note the opinions of the co妹妹ittee’s members in order to finalise a report on the outcome of the NA’s  六th plenary session. She also required the General Secretary to complete a draft agenda for the NA’s  七th session and send it to relevant agencies and NA deputies for feedback. She added that the co妹妹ittee was scheduled to vote on the draft ordinance on the adjustments and supplements to some articles related to planning on December  二 九.  Prior to the conclusion of the meeting, the co妹妹ittee discussed whether it was necessary to promulgate a decree on exhibition activities. Members of the co妹妹ittee reached consensus on the need for a decree to regulate such activities as there was no law or ordinance in this field. Also yesterday afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Phạm Bình Minh presented the Government’s draft decree on benefits for officials working in Vietnamese offices abroad, which received approval from the co妹妹ittee’s members.The  三0th meeting of the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee is slated to take place from January  一0- 一 二,  二0 一 九. – VNS
